There once were a group of people with good intentions, but they were mistaken. They wanted to destroy a crucial part of what keeps people sane and so they were inadvertently provoking all the war and bloodshed in the world. Their hands were covered in blood and they didn't even know it. They were children playing at being God and that can never lead to anything good. One fine day, one of their number, who wanted nothing more than to do the right thing, discovered the error. Like her sister, she was smart and learned lessons well, but quite deliberately their lessons had been different (but compatible). The girl is Sabina and she knew that the pen is mightier than the sword.
She wanted to teach those under fire from the misguided people the flexibility to win in a way that kept their most cherished ideals in tact. So she had to teach them to play. One of her first games was "mix and match." This is how Sabina plays that game:
Option One is Creationism:
God made the world and He loved it. He made everything right down to the atoms and the laws of physics. He made a separation between matter and spirit to keep His creations safe from spiritual attack (think of Satan like a bastard computer hacker troll who hates the fact that he can't create things). He made the plants and the animals but He wanted people to have free will, not be like the avatars of a computer game. He was a kind teacher, teaching people through stories and dance what it meant to be a good and loving person. It isn't an accident that we can't live without Love. It's a fail-safe mechanism to stop us getting lost but the world is now so broken that some people are choosing not to live at at all. He stopped time over and over trying to make adjustments, like someone might pause a computer game, that is how easy it is for God. He sought people whom He could demonstrate that He could use them like an avatar and they would be happy about it, joyfully living in surrender and serving God, understanding the laws of Love. They had to keep their free will and give it back when He needed to speak and do things. Without ordinary people surrendering to Him, God, the Power of Love, fixes were next to impossible. He ran through time forwards and backwards for the fastest "fix" and then with heavy heart He said "Let it be." There would be an answer for the people, but though it is instant to God, it would take a long time for ordinary people and they would feel abandoned. But since God is not confined by time He really did never leave, He's just been busy trying to bring us heaven on earth as fast as possible. He's sorry, but this is the best even a God can do if people will insist on running around trying to be God's unto themselves instead of living in true surrender and knowing the He is Love. Amen.
Option Two is Evolution:
The fittest organism in a given ecosystem for the conditions will be more successful, raise more young and so it's genetics will be more dominant in the gene pool. If the same organism (genetically) migrates to new habitats then the drive of "survival of the fittest" will cause them to specialize in different ways - like the birds of the Galapagos Islands. This mechanism has evidence in DNA and fossils. It is so well proven that we can now regard it as a fact.
Option Three: (This is how to play "mix and match")
God made the atoms and the laws of physics, but like a computer programmer making algorithms he had no choice but to run the "program" to develop the beings into those intelligent enough to understand His ways but also intelligent enough to see that all human leaders fail to bring peace. So evolution went on and He looked eagerly for signs of life. While the cows and the pigs and other mammals all made choices for their own survival, He needed a species that would be smart enough to survive, but intelligent enough to understand His ways. Well, God surpassed His own expectations and the humans were more clever than they were ready for. The humans understood so many complex things that they dismissed His simple laws as "silly." So the task for God was to find champions, intelligent enough to fight the ones who idolized complexity, kind enough to show everyone His grace, and determined enough to take the win home and hand it back to Him, knowing that truly He is the hand that guides us and gives us inspiration - like all good teachers do. So the humans needed to understand that their science was often right, but they were understanding His ways and they were not Gods, but humans under His mercy. He wanted them to be His flagship species. If they wanted to roam about like Captain James T. Kirk, then that would be their future, but they had to first show that they could take care of their home planet and each other. Otherwise they would be a curse on the universe and God won't allow it. When they show that they can be a blessing to one another and the universe God will inspire the tools. He gives the toys and He can take them away too.
